Just another day at the park ..

As I roamed around the park I realized there is more gross showing then there is snow. I am sad to see the snow go but this means spring is on it's way !

The next thing I seemed to notice was the birds. They were everywhere and chirping non-stop and most of them were robins like I mention last week. Since It wasn't too cold out I went down to the place where the horses usually run around and to my surprise there was both a horse and two sheep!
They stared each other down for a minute before the horse walked away.

She was actually really calm and came right up to the fence just for a second before slowly walking away. Inside this fenced in area there was a little pond of water probably because of the melting snow but there were both ducks and geese swimming around. The geese were Canadian geese and there was a female and male Mallard which are wild ducks. The reason I knew it was one female and one male is because the male has a green head and a grey body while the female is mostly brown-speckled. I took a picture of them but it didn't come out clear enough to see them. I looked around for other organisms that would be more wild but could not find any. I think it is still too cold for most of the animals that run around the park.

Robin !

Most of the time I have spent at Endicott lately is trying to stay warm. Once I got all bundled up I was ready to go walk around since my first post. I am actually glad I went over the weekend to check out the park because I ended up getting sick this week :( I am sad and glad that the snow is melting, I love the snow and winter but for this blog project its going to better when the weather becomes warmer and more animals come out to play. This weekend as I walked around and looked for some creatures I found this little guy ...
An American Robin, which is very normal to see in any kind of park or even backyard. Since I was younger me and my grandfather would always bird watch in his backyard. This means bird will catch my eye more than anything this semester. These birds are very easy to identify with their blue/grey back and orange stomach. The one thing about the robin I have always liked is there eggs, more for their color which have a color named after them Robins Egg Blue.

My First Blog Post !

The site I chose for my blog is a place in Danvers called Endicott Park. There were many reasons I decided to make this the site where I go to for a half hour each week. First would be that I have been there through out my childhood and bring my niece there all the time. Also it has a lot of animals and flowers around the park so there would be a variety to write about. Lastly I enjoy visiting Endicott in the spring and summer it is a beautiful place to walk around.

This is how the park looks when you first enter, right now it is covered in snow and does not look as nice as usual. As the blog goes on I hope to show how great this place really is.

This is the playground where I bring my niece's. The only thing wrong with this picture is that this playground is not what I grew up with. It used to be all wood and three times the size of those two pieces of material. It had a wooden car you could drive as well as a wooden house. This was my favorite playground when I was younger and sad they didn't keep it the same.

The picture below may not look like much but that is the area where people have picnics or events. Usually they have picnic tables ever where and the grass seems like it goes on forever.

Those are just a few pictures of what I captured this week. I hope you enjoyed viewing them and there will be more to come later!
